I'm a psych nurse-BSN moving to Cocoa real soon. I did some liason work in the hospital with commitments and some outpatient/ inpatient stuff. I'm not finding it anywhere in Brevard county. Any idea of hospitals, clinics, etc... Any info you have will do.

I grew up in that area (Brevard Co.) and my parents still live there, so I visit. I've not considered moving back, so I have no idea about employment opportunities (sorry ...) I do know that, because it is a highly desirable area to live, the housing costs are sky-high, and the general cost of living seems pretty high to me, too, when I'm there. My sister (not a nurse) was hoping to move back to be closer to my parents, but has pretty much given up because she can't find a job that would pay anywhere close (for the same work) to what she's making now and she would probably never be able to afford a house. I would guess that the job market is much like the housing market -- it's definitely a seller's/employer's market.
Best wishes --

We have a lot to build a home on. I noticed that things were kind of high. But we come from a place that thrives on the military. Of all places in NC that is suppose to have a low cost of living. Since there is no competition retail wise you have to pay the price especially when they only have one cable company. There doesn't seem to be anything but nursing agencies. Our builder says that things are beginning to slow down now. They are running out of room basically.
Cool.
