2 months of school left!

I'll be taking my finals 2 months from today, and I can hardly believe it's already here! I just got a job offer to be a nurse on the floor (a renal focused Med Surg floor) I'm currently teching on! I can't believe that after 4 years (2 just of pre-reqs) that there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I was terrified of finding a job, and now all I have to do is cruise through 8 more weeks of class and then pass the NCLEX and I'll actually finally be a nurse! Crazy!

You're lucky. I'd love to be nearly finished. I've lost all interest in this.

Specializes in Critical Care (ICU/CVICU).

Congrats girl!!! I'm a tech at a hospital as well, but I still have to apply like everyone else (although we Techs are top priority in hiring, so I'm really not worried) If anything, I'm more worried about exactly which department I will get employed. But these days, I guess you really can't be too picky. But I definately understand how it feels to be relatively stress free (as far as getting a job) so all we gotta focus is on NCLEX!

Specializes in 10 weeks in Pediatrics.

On the same boat! (Well, not a tech, but the two months part)

I totally feel like I'm cruising...for some reason, the way my program is set up, senior year isn't so bad. It was JUNIOR year that nearly killed me! I've never been a slacker in school, but this semester, I'm going more by "can slacking on this cause me to NOT graduate?" If the answer is "no," then...well, I sorta let go.

NCLEX time, baby! And searchin' for some jobs!

^^ OMG! I'm the same way! I never knew it was even possible to catch some seinoritis as a nursing student. But I'm having a bad case of it! Oh well, I'm getting my work done, but I find myself having to give myself an extra push (well... a push, shove, and a kick) to do my work and study. UGH, I just want to fast forward to May 14th!

Specializes in LTC.

Congrats !!!! Too bad I have a LONG way to go. Dec.... hopefully it will go by fast.

I still had to apply like everyone else, but my manager was ON IT, and she already knew that she wanted to hire me and one of my friends/classmates/coworkers. Some of my other friends who also are already techs are starting to get calls for interviews now too. I'm so excited for everyone! And I'm so excited to get to be a new nurse with someone else I know, I think it'll make it a lot less scary! It's not my dream unit, but I know all of the people and I know the floor. I'll make it to my dream unit one day!

I've got senioritis really bad too, all semester really. I have a math exam tomorrow and a lecture exam Monday, guess I'd better get working on that!

I think it'll probably go by pretty fast. This whole school year seems like it's flying by!

2nd semester (out of 4) I pretty much felt that way too. 3rd semester was super difficult, but I felt motivated and like I was actually finally getting it. Now this semester is a bunch of crap group work and observations and stuff, so it's hard to stay motivated. You'll get there though!

Graduating in two months too! Can't wait!!
