18 Month Commitment in WHC??????

I was hired in Feb 08 and knew about the commitment from the flyers about the internship program. The flyer stated that "RN's accepting Fellowship/bridge prison sign a contract to work for WHC for 18 months following the completion of the program; if the commitment is not met, the RN must pay back $100 for each classroom day for their Fellowship/Bridge program.” I can't find any contract beyond my acceptance letter - and it doesn't mention the commitment either. Good luck with this! Which unit are you on?

So they are filling 2 programs already? one in feb and one for july?

BTW, I've also heard regarding the commitment for a certain period of time after the orientation but I can't see it on their website... Maybe you should contact the nurse recruiter...

For those who got hired at WHC in July 2008 is there such a thing as an 18 month commitment? I don't recall ever hearing about this in orientation or from my nurse recruiter. In addition I checked my acceptance letter and it does not mention any of this. If there is an 18 month commitment can anyone let me know were it states it. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

It depends on if you were a new grad and went through the fellowship. If you did, then it should have been part of the contract that you signed in HR. I don't think the time commitment applied to experenced nurses getting a job at WHC.

I started in their most recent program back in October. There is no longer an 18mth commitment required. There may have been in the past, but they restructured the new graduate program and it doesn't involve that. We signed an acceptance letter, but that is it. We even asked during one of our classes if there was a contract and were told no. Even for the relocation money, they don't require a commitment.
