Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello All! I started at Monroe Colleges ABSN program for Winter 2024 semester. I wanted to create this thread for anyone else whos in the program or applying to future semesters. Here we can ask any questions and keep each other updated. Thank you!

Hey was it competitive to get in the program ? And what was your TEAS score ?

Hi, can you share the interview process? Questions you were asked, etc, I just got an email inviting me in for an interview.

Hi, I had a quick over the phone interview. I was asked some combination of "why nursing, why an accelerated program, and why Monroe college?"

It felt like a regular conversation. I thought it was a phone call to give me more information about the program (I signed up for an informational session for around the same time frame, so I confused the two). It wasn't until I received an email afterwards saying "thank you, your interview is complete"...Imagine my initial shock.

But don't stress it, you will do great.

Thank you so much for the info! How long after did it take to receive a decision letter? They are already asking me to submit proof of vaccinations. I'm not sure if it's safe to say if you're offered an interview that basically means you got into the program.

1.) I interviewed on 10/16/23 this was the email I received after the interview call...

"Dear ___, It was so nice chatting with you. You have successfully completed your interview for Monroe College. Remember to work on the items we discussed in our interview. Please make sure to stay in touch with me if you have any additional questions or want to discuss anything in further detail. I am always here to help".

2.) I then started submitting all the requested materials (transcripts, Immunization records, essays ) between 10/26/23 to 1/08/24.

3.) The last item I submitted was my TEAS scores on 1/29/24. I took the exam that same day.

*All these items were submitted before the Feb 1st deadline.

4.) Feb 1st I received a calendar meeting invite "BSN- Accelerated Second-Degree- Next Steps Webinar" . The email said ->

Dear Applicant, Thank you for applying to the Monroe College School of Nursing. You are being considered for a seat in the Accelerated Second-Degree program for the upcoming Spring (April) semester. Therefore, you are invited to attend a required virtual nursing webinar this Monday, February 5 from 3 -4 pm. During this session, we will discuss your next steps and the program's expectations.

5.) Feb 9th I receive my decision letter - aka I was accepted.

I was interviewed before submitting TEAS scores and such. I think the interview is more a part of the check list to get in process not the real deciding factor of your acceptance...in my opinion.

I hope this timeline is helpful.

Hi! Thank you so much this was extremely insightful! I have all my documents submitted, immunization, transcripts, TEAS, the only thing left on my application checklist is my interview which I have scheduled for next Tuesday.

Niiice! Sounds like you're all set...best of luck! You got this!

Hi, I'm going through with my application process and working with admissions, but I've seen some pretty bad reviews about Monroe's nursing program. How has your experience been so far??

Specializes in LTC (LPN-RN).

I am looking at their RN to BSN program. If anyone went let me know. I'd like to how the assignments are.  Some schools when online have a paper every week.

Hey, I was wondering how's the process for you going. Did you do your interview and get an acceptance letter yet? Did you take the TEAS exam yet?
