Money Problems!!!!

First of all, having grown up with a single mom, I can empathize with your situation.

Forgive me if this seems presumptuous, but is your ex-husband paying any child support? If not, have you considered getting a lawyer involved and have the money automatically deducted from his paycheck? My mother had a lot less financial stress when my father was finally forced to start paying what he owed. Even if he can't give you any money, is it possible for him to watch the kids on weekends?

I already have a child support order, but the last time he had automatic deductions, I got one check for $98.00 and he quit. :nono:

So, now they have located him again and he will have the money deducted, but you can probably guess what will happen.

I can't let him watch the kids until he gets some help, but that's another story.

Just a thought..have your parents meet you halfway on friday afternoons so you can work the weekends, adn pick them up (halfway) on Sunday afternoons..parents can be a godsend, especially if they know their child is striving to make a better life....

Thrift stores...Love 'em!

Food pantries..Love 'em!

Libraries....Love 'em!

Cutting corners can be made to happen..just keep stretching all you can...and hang on...there's always a light at the end of the tunnel!

OH my goodness... my father did the same thing!! At least your ex went back to work, my father just quit working altogether. What's wrong with these father' s that don't want to take care of their kids..?!?! Best of luck.. and God Bless you and your kids!

does your school offer emergency loans for students? some schools offer small interest free loans for 30-90 days, about $500 or so.
