Tweety I hope your GI issues settle down

Stars I hope the power stays on

Went to church early yesterday, I was ushering and they moved the service up to accommodate the annual meeting.  The drive up and back was tricky, we got more snow than expected, about 5 inches, so the road were not as well plowed as they should have been.  Skipper the annual meeting as I find those pointless

Rest of the day was taken up with doing the cooking for the week, some cleaning, some laundry,  and watching the rest of Don Giovanni.  Tried to exercise but for some reason I was too fatigued.  Ran some errands when the snow stopped. Decided to no longer volunteer for the church music events.  I think I do too much at church, and it give the impression that I'm willing to do anything and everything, a regular hazard of smaller churches

Today should be pretty ordinary, unless something unexpected comes up at work.

Going to be quite cold today, only up to 7.  Will be in the teens most of the week, up to the 20s by the weekend

Temps are going up; supposed to reach 40 degrees today; right now it is 36 degrees and things are starting to melt, with drips coming from the eaves and tree branches.

I'm sort of awake, having opened my eyes due to 'signals' from the bladder. Have just taken my AM meds. Having coffee and remaining in bed to peruse the on-line stuff I look at most days. I "did a Tweety" last night and fell asleep with the light on and a book in my lap, so I don't know what time I conked out. I woke up at 3:45 AM, and put the book down, turned out the light, then I went back to sleep. My eyes want to close again now, and I am not exactly saying 'no' to them...........?Maybe I will tawk whichoos laydah ? as I am inclined to seize the moment!

It's 29 here and cloudy. No precipitation forecast.  The dogs went out to chase the squirrels that congregate below the bird feeders and totally ignored the 2 deer strolling from yard to yard. dh has contracted my cold, so I will be taking MiL to her chiropractor this morning. I will wear a mask, due to a lingering cough. I think it is from my sinuses draining. I must have tossed my neti pot, so I will shop for a replacement.

We watched the Seahawks win last night (I may have dozed off a time or 2) so they are on their way to the Super Bowl. It seems like a good game, although I don't understand some of the terminology. dh has to explain some of the penalties.

I really need to get the rest of the ornaments off of the Christmas tree. I stopped packing them up for a couple of days when my cold was bad. I may even make dinner tonight.

Good morning!

My first post needed moderator approval which hasn't occurred yet and I understand.  But just decided to start over.

It was nice enough to go to the beach yesterday and it was crowded.  I think we all know it's the last day until Winter Part III that we will have a weekend where we can be barefoot and at the beach.  There were even people swimming but the Gulf of America is way too cold for me.

Started off at 70 this AM but that was to be our high was Winter III arrives.

My unsworn testimony went very quick to everyone's surprise. He only asked me a couple of questions and took ten minutes.  They thought it might take longer.  The coaching prep prior took an hour.  I do get paid for my time.

Took a nice nap and am having coffee #2.

My taxes were accepted by the IRS so now just wait for the refund.  Another thing I neglected to mention was the additional deduction for being over 65 that I think was part of the big beautiful bill which in my cases wasn't the full $6,000 but $3500.  I'll take it.  The caveat being I don't like the shifting of wealth from entitlement programs like SNAP or health care programs to us that might not need it.

Anyway, bowling is tonight and I am going to the gym after lunch.

I am officially off the ineffective low FODMAP diet and things aren't worse but no better.

My mood is no worse and no better. Bad.  LOL

Okay, let's see if this one makes it past the mods.  edit:  No it did not. I don't get it, but I'm messing up the algorithm here.  LOL

joe ~ There is a 1951 movie, a 'Hollywood bio', about the opera singer, The Great Caruso, starring Mario Lanza. It is kind of a sappy movie, in a way, and he wasn't much of an actor, but what I always loved about it was that you could really hear just how much Mario Lanza LOVED singing, and with his barrel-chest, he really was QUITE GOOD at it! If you can find it, I would recommend a listen to it. I think I have a copy of it on a VCR somewhere down in the shed, but that does you no good, does it?! Anyway, it was that movie that actually made me enjoy opera (well that movie and some of the opera singing in Amedeus).

So, I got up and dressed and took Tinker out for the first time in 2 days. She was quite hesitant about walking on the snow, which is mostly just mush in the sunny areas of the lawn. The driveway and the roads are clear, but you can see on the side of the road that we had a snowplow come through at some point. We walked the 3/4's of the yard that was clear. I hope that satisfied her for a while, as I want to wash my shoes in the washing machine SOON, but they take a long time to dry, and I'm not going to wear my new shoes out in this mud and slush!

It is so bright outside that I thought of Rod Stewart singing (in Maggie May, with the words adapted somewhat to me) "The morning sun when it's in your face, really shows your age. But that don't worry me none 'cause..." ------for crying out loud, I DO have age showing, and I am not about to start having plastic surgery because it is so expensive, and who the heck have I got to impress at this point in my life?!

Having some 2 o'clock coffee (no, not Eight O'Clock coffee; it is 2 PM in the afternoon) and I am thinking that in a few minutes I will go upstairs and root around in my room trying to semi-straighten things out.  First thing I will do is gather all the papers, bills, statements and such, in a pile to go through later, and probably strip the bed and wash the bedding (and let loose even MORE little down feathers that keep leaking out of the comforter.) And if I can keep going, I will put away all the clean clothes that I once again have washed, dried, and folded, and then left in the laundry baskets. And, gosh, MAYBE even vacuum my room! WHOA!

The most 'fun' I have had these past few days is deleting the potential SPAM calls on my phone. If the calling numbers have no names to  identify themselves or don't leave me a message, then Ppfftt they are gone. Wheeee! Because I really honestly don't much like phones most of the time.

Now I have to call the banks auto-teller and see how my checking acct is doing. I think I was overdrawn again, but the SS check should have been automatically deposited, so the overdraft should be gobbled up. Then I do have a few bills to pay.

I REALLY hope that Nannie is NOT ready to be discharged home this week, but I haven't heard a word from SiL about it, and I like it that way!

Okay, offa here now. Be good!

We are up to a balmy 26 degrees today, but another cold front is expected Friday to take us back to single digits, at least overnight. We ended up getting about 7" of snow which is enough to slow down / stop most things in small towns in OK.

The church had only 1 guest at the warming station but at least that is one person who didn't have to be out in the cold. Twin A and I spent the night there Saturday night. Hubs and I delivered a patient back to his nursing home since their van couldn't make it in the snow, then delivered another patient home who had come in by ambulance and family somehow couldn't figure out how to come get her. We would not normally do that (and incur the risk of transporting people like that) but these were unusual circumstances. I doubt anyone would get that kind of service from the big-city hospitals. Then again, those cities probably have taxi service, which we do not.

I need to try to figure out if my doctor's office is going to give me a refill on one of my prescriptions that I didn't get refilled when I saw the doctor in December (?) November (?). I've been trying a few days and I've had enough trouble with them that I'm about ready to find a new PCP. If it weren't such a pain to do...

That's IT! I am (I have said this before) NOT going to tell y'all what I'm going to be doing when I get off my laptop! BECAUSE, it seems I frequently DON'T end up doing those things I say I will! Like today for instance.

I went up to the kitchen looking for something; I knew what it was at the time, but have since forgotten.? Anyway when I opened the kitchen drawer which contained the little odds and ends of small kitchen things like can opener, jar openers, egg-slicer, nested cups for measuring 1/4 cup to 1 cup, and 2 sets for fractions of tea-and-tablespoons, plus a lot more of etc's.  Anyway, whatever it was I was searching for I did not find, but as I searched through the doo-dads and what-nots, I got way back in the drawer where I never go looking for things (for whatever reason) and found some kind of food particles that must have been in some little packages (like individual saltines from to-go orders of long-ago) that were ripped open. Anyway, I emptied everything out, and 'swept' the drawer with a small brush and dust-pan set, and washed it out, too.

Wellllll, THEN I was hungry and I remember I had a frozen package of spaghetti-type,
peppered noodles. Huh. I read the directions and it said to put 1 tbsp of my "favorite cooking oil" (which is what I had on hand, not necessarily my 'favorite") So I put it in the pan and turned on the burner, then the contents of the package into the hot frying pan. So, I was surprised to see what LOOKED like baking powder biscuits. Well, after a minute or two I uncovered the pan to stir the stuff, and found that what looked like biscuits was actually coiled noodles which emerged as everything heated up. I also had some of "KEVIN'S Korean (garlic) Chicken". So I put that in another pan after I drained off the liquid that was in it, and turned the heat onto medium as I broke apart the pieces of white meat chicken and let the chicken sit for a several minutes, covered, and I stirred as directed. When all was said and done, I mixed both noodles and chicken together in a big bowl and stirred them. Not bad at all; quite good! Not that I can really TASTE too much, spice-wise, but I can tell there's black paper in the noodles. Hey, it's a hot-meal, with a variety of textures and plenty for leftovers!

I never did get upstairs to my room to do anything! Now I have finished eating and am watching the local news where they said we are in line for another round of snow on Saturday, and they also said we probably won't get out of the 30's all week. I still do have to at least pick out the paper and bills and statements from my room. I may not sort them much, except to pick out the bills that are coming up due. I can toot them over to the post office on Tuesday.

Tweety, don't feel bad about the moderators checking on your post. *I* get MANY of my posts in the pink print on the screen, with the little notice that my post would have to be checked by the moderators first, before it is printed. I just figure they are just interested in what-all 'new' (or old, or continued) nonsense is going on in my life! Anyway, they don't stop it from being printed..... except I can't write the abbreviation for the word 'assisted' without having the first three letters starred-out and it ends up like this:    ***'d   ! ???

Oh gosh, NOW I will have to wash a LOT of pans and dishes because I decided to cook. My own best enemy!
