Stars here's hoping all the drivers license stuff gets resolved soon

Dianah glad you were able to jam despite the heat

Tweety hope your OT shift goes well

Yesterday was busy. In the morning our church had a combined service at another church, with our minister preaching. Then I came home and made cauliflower paprikash, hadn't made that in a while, a bit involved. Then went to my sister's friend's house for a cookout. Was nice, maybe a dozen people or so, and weather wasn't rainy or too hot. Rest of the day was quiet. Was pleased that the cat slept with me for part of last night, and didn't wake me up despite the fact that his food bowl was empty when I got up

Today should be an ordinary day at work, although I do have a coworker off today and tomorrow which might complicate things. Nothing after work except for exercise.

Will be warmer today, in the low 80s, rain should hold off until later in the week

Good morning!

Joe, sounds like a nice day. Hope today isn't too crazy.

I had to call off today because my air conditioner stopped working. In Florida in August that's a valid reason. It cooled off when I got home and stopped working. They had an answering service and I'm able to get service today, but no telling when they are coming or if they can fix it in one visit. As someone part of their plan where they do inspections twice a year I get priority repairs. It's frustrating but just a week or so ago I was inspected and it she said it was working well.

The downstream effects are by calling in I won't get the $650 shift bonuses they were offering because the contract was four weeks and today was week three. But I will get the time and a half. It is what it is.

Bad timing because I'm spending a lot of money on estate planning and the dentist. Just got a call the window is 2-4 pm. Right now it just rained and is cloudy so the house isn't heating up too bad. I spent a week once with no power in the Summer after a hurricane and you might remember how miserable I was.

Anyway, life goes on. I'll try to get some chores done. I have dinner and lunch pre-made since I thought I was working. Will maybe clean the bathrooms.

So, today is Monday and I MUST do stuff, like picking up/cleaning this whirlwind of a mess in my room. Had to get dressed first and take Tinker out because I slept late and then Tinker began puking on the bed. Started a laundry and am about to go on-line and get after myself to seriously obtaining my birth certificate from Massachusetts and Marriage Certificate from NC. I called the hearing place to cancel this Thursdays appointment because I will have to do a very methodical and intense search for the missing hearing aids. I guess this will be a day in which I have to apply myself to the tasks at hand. EGADS. Or as my mother used to say, "Ye god's and little cat fishes!" (?? I don't know the origins of that expression!) Wish me luck!

I hope all is going well with the new cat, Joe. We love our orange cat, Sam. He's a big, gentle guy and very timid with strangers but very affectionate with us. What color are your kitty's eyes? Sam has amber eyes.

Oatmeal/dried cherry cookies do sound good. I tried another lower-carb recipe - basically mixing melted bittersweet chocolate, unsweetened coconut, and pecans. Very tasty but because I couldn't resist over-indulging, probably not the best idea for me.

Saturday Twin A and I volunteered with others from our church to hand out backpacks at the community's "Back-to-School Bash." I think it's coordinated by one of the larger churches but they get lots of community involvement. There were about 600 backpacks, filled with a few school supply items, given away and there were various activities for the kids, and drawings for some items... including several new bicycles. There were a couple of times that an ambulance came out to the gathering -- I'm guessing because someone got overcome by the heat. There was a decent breeze, and we had a pop-up canopy for shelter from the sun. "Staff" came around frequently offering bottles of water. So we were OK, but I can see how someone could get "not OK" pretty easily.

Sunday Hubs and I finally made it back to church. He had been "taking a break" rather deliberately since he spends so much time helping my cousin with that car. Which really means he does most of the work (which doesn't bother him but does make him tired). Me, I just hate getting up in the morning and enjoy days that I don't have to.

Stars, I hope the drama settles down a little or maybe isn't quite as dramatic as your friend makes it sound, and that she feels better after talking it over.

I've got the Register of Deeds and the County Clerk's paperwork ready to go and will mail them this afternoon, when..... J wants S to drive us out to a different part of town and to see some senior housing I might consider when and if the need arises. Hmmm. But since the rents start at $700/mo I would have to get assistance with that. ( Anyway, WTH, it's something to consider if I can get whatever the word is that starts with a "S") And she wants us to picnic in the truck again, this time with Kentucky Fried Chicken, which is difficult to pass up, since I am starved to death and really like good fried chicken (extra crispy!)

TOMORROW, I will tell J, I am not going to be available, period. I have already decided how to start the hearing aid search AND cleaning up simultaneously. And I may shift some of the 10- year-sealed-boxes out to the garage, since I KNOW the hearing aids won't be found in THEM!

And life goes on. At least Tinker hasn't puked anymore!

Hi all. I wish I had exciting things to post, but, not really. Youngest ds and I went to a concert in Seattle on Saturday night. It was ED Sheeran and he put on a great show: good music along with some fireworks and lasers. It was raining when we left our house, but sunny with puffy white clouds in Seattle, and we were outside in the football stadium and the weather was perfect.

Yesterday I slept in until 8, because we didn't get home until 1:30 am. We went to the local minor league baseball game in the afternoon and it was bad. There were multiple errors that even I recognized, like bad base running, poor throws, blown calls by the umpire. Then I came home and had a nap.

Today I took MiL to her chiropractic appointment and I took some dahlias from our garden to the receptionist. Then home to pull some weeds. I just finished a message to send out to fellow gardeners to ask for volunteers to work in the food bank garden. I am going to stop by there tomorrow and meet with the garden manager and see if it's something I might volunteer for.

I need to make appointments for routine checks and vaccines for the doggos. I already made appointments for myself for an echo and see the cardiologist. Ugh, I am scheduled to see someone I don't know and I dread it. I am just uncomfortable with strangers. But, otherwise I would have to wait until December. Maybe I'll call back because I'm not having any issues.

Joe congrats on the new kitty! We used to have an orange tabby with different colored eyes. He was a sweetheart named Bruno.

I love ED Sheeran. I have physical copies of several of his albums. He's one of the most streamed artists of all time, with streams in the billions.

I got a portable air conditioner for the bedroom. Took a few hours but it started to cool down for me to sleep. I don't have the right window though for it and it's suppose to put the hot air it generates out the window but some of it is coming back in defeating the purpose. Oh well.

I called work about something and they casually mentioned I was working Wednesday which I had no idea. Thank goodness I called or I would have been a no-call no show. Ugh. My schedule never changes so this is odd.
