Anyone know where I could find information on a Mirena perferating the uterus? I'm wondering what precautions are suggested if this happens. Is there anything other than back up birth control the patient should worry about?

Um.
Uterine perforation is a medical emergency. We do not provide medical advice here. The patient's physician should be consulted for all complications and potential complications of treatment; if a perforation is suspected, emergency treatment should be sought immediately.
I will say no more and refer this to wiser heads than mine.

I'd be worried about infection more than back up birth control. As mentioned by TDFlMedic, time to seek emergency care.

It's an emergency best advised and treated by a doctor.
