Milwaukee

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to potentially move to Milwaukee and was wondering if anyone could give me an insight on places to live/cost of living etc. I've been trying to do quite a bit of research but the internet only tells so much! Also, a ballpark range of what new nurses start at at a hospital there? Currently I'm looking at the southern side and heard that Jackson Park is a good place to live?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Yes, the Jackson Park area is very nice. Close to Aurora St. Lukes and many other hospitals. I live near there.

I've lived on the East side, somewhat near UWM, for the last 4 years and I love it.

I got sexually assaulted on the east side back in 2009. If I ever moved back to Milwaukee, I would not go there!

I've lived in Bay View for about 5 years total, I lived in Cudahy for about a year, I lived in Oak Creek for two years, I lived over close to Wauwatosa for a year-ish, I'm now back on the east side (been here for about two years) and I lived on the east side for about 2 years previous. I love Bay View and the south side in general. It tends to be less expensive. I also enjoy the east side very much, although it's much more pricey.

It all depends on what you're looking for in housing, things to do, proximity to work, etc.
