MEPS for over 40

Published

I am off to MEPS tomorrow for my physical and my recruiter told me that I didn't have to fast. But I am concerned that he didn't realize my age (he took over for a recruiter who retired, so he doesn't know my file that well, I would assume). I'm thinking that I should go ahead and fast anyway because I really don't wish to go back again.

Has anyone not had to fast?

Thanks!

I wasn't even over 40 and I had to fast ... they checked my cholesterol with my lab draw.

How many hours? I'm thinking I should just fast....

I don't remember .... 10? 12?

Good to know. Thanks!

I just remember because my recruiter bought me breakfast at the Dunkin Donuts at Walter Reed after I had my labs drawn, because I was jonesin' for some coffee! :D

You will be required to fast. They do provide some sort of meal there (lunch) but I opted to leave and go some place that served adult beverages - you will need it after spending all day at MEPS

Well, I have to say that without allnurses I would not have known that I should fast. And I did need to. The amount of time was almost irrelevant because they didn't draw the blood for my cholesterol and lipid panel until 4:00pm, almost 22 hours after I had my last meal. But at least that part is done!

OMG, I'll bet you were a little hungry!! Yikes. Glad that's done. :)
