Hello all,
I'm a former MS/HS teacher who switched to nursing a few years ago. I'm thinking about returning to the education environment as a school nurse. Do you think that my being a male nurse would be a problem? Do you think it would it be an issue for your school/district?
Thanks for any thoughts...

It shouldn't at all! I know about 4 male school nurses in a nearby District. I was just speaking with a fellow school nurse about how there's way less men in this profession than say the hospital. If that's your goal then go for it! Good luck!

i don't see why it would be any different than a man in any other field of nursing. I would love to see more men in school nursing! . I say go for it!

I would say go for it. Male nurses have a lot to offer to the world of school nursing. I think that it would be grate to show young men in the school that they too could be a nurse.
