WooHoo!!!!:w00t: I used: *Springhouse NCLEX RN Review cards Third edition *Saunders Comprehensive review Third edition (CD) *and Mostly NCLEXRN 3500 that someone on here suggested http://198.146.4.5/nclexrn3500/mainMenu.do *and the night before the exam I reviewed Davis's RN Notes, Nurse's clinical pocket guide Good Luck!! You can Do it!!!!
  2. CateRavenwing Thanks so much for your reply. Unfortunately I do need a referral to see the Endocrinologists in my area since there are only 2. I will get the referral from the ENT when I go in this coming week. The antibody test, is this the TPO? My levels where checked in 2004 and they were 840, the family Dr. didn't seem concerened and of course now I have a simple goiter. I do have a lab order to have this retested and will go in for the blood draw on Monday. This is just so frustrating, and YES, you are right... I have been exhausted for the last 4 years (I thought it was just the stress of nursing school). But... I managed to graduate this past December :nuke: Thanks so much for the info., I am feeling better since I started the Synthroid and will get that referral for sure. Hugs to You!!!
  3. Hello! I have finally found a Dr. that confirmed my suspected thyroid issues. For 4 years now my family doctor has been telling me I have thyroiditis and that I do not need medication despite my lab results which have indicated Hypothyroid. I finally saw another Dr. in the same office (she is a new partner) and she had me go for a thyroid ultrasound. When the results came back she then sent me to an ENT and he confirmed Hashimoto's thyroid. He put me on synthroid and I need to get my labs redrawn so he can adjust my dose if necessary. My question is this? do I continue to see an ENT for this or should I be under the care of an endocrinologist? Does it really matter? I just want to make sure I am being treated effectively. The ENT Dr. seems very good and I have an appointment next week for a follow up. Not sure if I should ask him for a referral or stick with his office for treatment. Thanks
  4. I am so nervous to take the NCLEX also. I just rescheduled my exam, I probably shouldn't have..... I got my ATT on 1/27 and thought I would be ok to take it by Monday the 16th but now I feel like I need more time to study. New test date is March 4th. and I need help focusing on what to study. I am feeling overwhelmed and I have terrible test anxiety that is now getting the best of me Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, does anyone know.... Is Suzanne's plan doable in 2 weeks?
  5. I know it's not exactly in the Metro area but there is a store I found in Hagerstown awhile back that has some really nice scrubs. I seem to remember some stethoscopes and a few other nursing supplies as well. Super Shoes: 601 Dual Highway Hagerstown, MD 21740 If your in the area it's worth a looksie. There is also a medical supply store in the same shopping center a few stores away. Can't remember the name but they have scrubs there too and lots of medical supplies for home health.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions Nurse-to-be-joy. I do everything you mentioned with the exception of exercising on a regular basis. I guess I need to make some time to start going to the school gym after class.:) Thanks
  7. Hello, I'm in my last semester of pre-req's for my local nursing program. Letters are due to go out in April and I am really nervous about my science grades. The Science classes are just beating me down. I have A's in all of my classes with the exception of Micro and A&P 1. This semester I am working on A&P 2 along with other classes and find might anxiety level going higher and higher. I just took my first exam Thursday, when time was up I wasn't even finished, I didn't get to work on my essay questions. I'm always the last one finishing on my exams and I know this stuff when I am going over it in study group with my friends who get A's and B's. Me, I am barely getting D's on these exams.... I am so frustrated with myself. I feel like when I take the exam, It takes me awhile to really understand what the question is asking and even then I can only narrow the answer down to 2 of the 5 choices but then I'm stuck. When I was finished with the exam some of my classmates were waiting for me in the hall and I almost fainted, it took me about 10 minutes before I felt normal again (I had a Reese's cup and some water). It wasn't that I was really nervous, I feel like, whenever I take these exams I get tunnel vision because I am thinking so hard. I'm not sitting there saying to myself oh my gosh, this is hard or I can't do this.... I am just working through each question to try and choose the best answer so I can move on to the next. I feel that my thought process takes a little longer than most. I did see a Dr. the other day and awaiting results for some bloodwork (Hypothyroid, Pre-Diabetes and Cortisol). When I went in my BP was really high as well and I keep gaining weight for no apparent reason. Just looking for some suggestions. Maybe someone else has been in a similar situation? Maybe I am studying the wrong way? I am a visual learner and it's the pictures that seem to pop into my head, I do draw and write all over a blank sheet of paper to help in my thought process but..... I'm still struggling. Thank you for any positive suggestions you may have to offer, Jennifer
  8. I too am very sorry for your ill husband. I am not a nurse, but I am a pre-nursing student and I have IBS. I have had a terrible time with constipation in the past as well to the point of bleeding and doubled over in pain afraid to have a BM. Over the years I'd tried a few things with minimal relief and then I talked with my OB/GYN who suggested I take flaxseed oil (2 tbsp/day). I actually take 2 to 4 1000mg. supplements because the oil itself is awful tasting. I can tell you honestly, I have not had a problem with painful/bleeding constipation in over 2 years since starting the flaxseed oil. Good Luck in finding help for your hubby. My Prayers are with both of you.
  9. Hello, I'm Sorta New here..... This Summer I'm taking: Microbiology Lecture and Lab Online Sociology Fall I'm taking: A&P 1, Lecture and Lab Sociology of Marriage and Family Algebra Pottery 1, (don't need this one but thought it would be a fun class) I still haven't decided on which degree yet, I'm applying to both the Associates and Bachelors programs. I will have all my pre-req's for the Associates complete by Spring 06 and I should have all the additional pre-req's required for BSN transfer done by Summer 06 (will apply in December for both). Hopefully I will be accepted to one of the programs and will then start Fall 06 clinicals. Good Luck to everyone!:)
