Medi-Tech anyone?

Is anyone using Medi-Tech's E.D. module?, and, If so, what do you think? My facility is considering it as a possibility.

I absolutely hate it. The reasons are so numerous and varied that there are not enough years in my life to share them all with you. It is not easy to learn (and I am very computer literate and serve as an E-Mentor/Computer resource for the new faculty at at a college), and constantly needs updating.

Run, run as fast as you can!

I've used meditech, but not in the ED. I loved it. I thought it was very user-friendly. Then again we had a great IT department and I'm totally computer illiterate lol.

Thumbs down to meditech. Reminds me of a DOS based program. I really like Sunrise XA, Windows based and very user friendly. These are the only two programs I've used in the hospital setting.

Used it during clinicals at one facility that had an awesome HIS dept, and it was good. At the facility I work at now, the HIS dept is a little lacking, and sometimes things just don't work so well with medi-tech....

That is no doubt the key. Our computer folks were not only available by phone, but made routine rounds on every unit throughout the day and into the evening. Whenever there was an update or anything new added, they were in-house 24/7 until the staff was at a certain comfort level with their charting. They were also constantly 'tweaking' the system per our suggestions. Of all the systems I've used, it was by far the fastest to chart, and had the least amount of 'double charting' required.
