McFatter 2013

Hi,

I would like to know if their is anyone starting the LPN program this year in April or July at McFatter. Also, are there any current McFatter nursing students that can share their experiences in the program? I am finishing up the last requirements and paperwork for the program hopefully there is still seats available in the April class but most likely I will start the July class. Thanks in advance.:woot:

Hope you get in! I applied last year and there were no more spots. So i flew my butt to Atlantic and got in there. I started in december. Atlantic starts in April too. Good luck!

I applied for the April class. I am just waiting. The secretary in the medical department told me letters go out one month prior to the start date. Hopefully we can get in for the April program.

I'm applying to atc for April. Just passed the tabe test last week. We have orintation feb 19 for the Lpn program. If everything goes as I plan when I take the teas I'll be starting in April if not aug.

I purchased the study guide from ATI and purchased two practice test on thier websites. Please study the science the test is challenging. I studied about a month. But if you study you should be fine. Protons, nuetrons, scientific method, photosynthesis etc....Good Luck! and hope to see us both in class..

If you can buy the books in advance and study them - then do so - especially study Body Structure and Function - Thibideau - even if you have to buy a used one and review the body structure. Also when the teacher leaves it optional as to weather you buy the study guide or not - buy the study guide and do the work - and do the work at the end of each chapter - and there is an answer key - look at your wrong answers and review why they are wrong because a lot of the questions are what we would consider hokey since we don't understand nursing process. Also - learn to highlight all the relevant sections in a chapter so you skip over all the "Filler" when studying for your test = so you review it once and highlight it - read the end chapter key notes and summaries - then do the questions and review the answer key to check answers. Make sure you find intelligent people in higher up blocks to give you guidance because the course can take some sharp turns. Test yourself on the diagrams before u take a test- the study guide will have blank digrams for u to label - Always try to read a chapter ahead of the class as some of the questions will even be from the next chapter - sneaky I know. Have your definitions done for class ahead of time - even do them all in one day is better than waiting til the last moment. Bring your own lunch because the cooking school there makes great food and you will blow up like a house.

Hey, I just graurated from there in november. Its a great program. what block are you starting. maybe i can help.
