Hi there! I'm writing a paper Geriatric nursing. I have a question that I have to answer and i'm having some troubles finding it.
What mathmatics do Geriatric Nurses use, and in what type of situations do they use them?
Thanks for any help you can give!

IV drug caculations, caculating the right dose for injections (pain meds). Adding together I/Os.

Sometimes drug doses need to be adjusted, as geriatric patients do not eliminate the drug as efficiently as younger people. However, the doctor should be doing those adjustments when prescribing. I dunno, maybe that's that they're talking about ???

You need to be able to do the kind of math to divide the minutes of your shift by the number of patients you have to care for multiplied times the numbers of medications they each take by the square root of the tripling of the treatments and then subtract the interruptions in your day:smokin:!

The math I use is the same one that a chemical engineer might use.:chuckle
