Math problem confusion

Piperacillin 2 gm IV q6h is ordered. Pharmacy sends a vail of pipercaillin, 1 gm in 5 ml. You are to mix 2 gm in 50 ml of Nacl and run over 30 minutes. You are using a macrodrip set (15 gtts?ml).

A. What drug dose is to be mixed in the Nacl?

B. What is the flow rate?

I did it but I dont think that it is right. I wish I knew how to email someone on here private so I could show you how I worked the problum out. I hate putting it on here for the whole world to see how dumb I am looking.

I have bad news for all of you who tried to help me with the math I studied all summer and still did not get pass the 90 grade mark instead I got a stupid 85. This time I messed up because I couldn`t understand some of the words that my teacher was asking me in the exam. Anyone know where I may find a vocabulary list of all of the words that may be used in a medication exam?

Med-Math by Grace Henke.It seems to go over everything including abbreviations and vocab...do you get another chance on the test? Our school only requires an 80 to pass but you get one chance and I didn't make it this last time so I'm out until next Fall, I have test anxiety I know b/c I can do the math when I'm not taking a test; I just freeze up when it's do or die. :eek:

P.S check Half.com for this book I got mine for .75 plus shipping about 5.00 total!

Thank you so much and I will try that book. I am out until january 2009. I also have test anxiety and freaks out when they turns on the timer. Our test is 90 or better and timesd for one hour.

Note to OP: it is spelled "problem" not "problum"
