Hi, I'm brand spankin' new to allnurses.com. I've been reading for a while though. I decided a few months ago that I would work towards my schools RN program. I fell in love:redbeathe with A&P about a year ago, and recently realized that my love may have happened for a reason-NURSING. But, I have a question about the math pre-req's. I'm not the best at math, well, I'm horrible really. Should I take Allgebra or Statistics... is there much of a difference as far as difficulty?
Thanks!

I would take algebra. Actually I think you HAVE to take algebra before you could even take statistics, at least that is how it is at my school.

I really think you need to do both. Do Algebra first.

You definitely need algebra. Even if it's not a prerequisite, you need to know it for chemistry and dosage calculations.
Statistics is required at a couple of the local CC programs.
Definitely, do algebra before stats.

Have you taken the Accuplacer yet?! That will let you know if you need any developmental classes. Those out of school for some time often do. They can also test you on college level math if you request it to see just how far along you are. This will put you on the proper path. GL.
