Malcolm X Nursing Program - Chicago, Spring 2020

Anyone Applying for this Spring Term? I'm so lost on how the Nursing Department is processing all submissions -- and the office has not been helpful in giving clear instructions. Anyone else who has completed this process have any tips? My biggest fear is having all requirements turned in and they are not processed.

I emailed ******** ******* two days ago and just emailed ******...again lol. One of my classmates mentioned that her mom works at Stroeger and spoke to someone there and found out Malcolm does their clinicals at that hospital. She told her that there is a shortage of students applying to Malcolm X so they need students. Hope this is true!

I understand, I literally emailed ****** a week ago and she never responded so I forwarded my email again to her and she finally replied.. it’s so annoying.

i hope that’s true!! I hope we all get in, and find out soon.

Hi everyone,

Just wondering, do all of your listed requirements under the Selective Application Page show "Completed"? I submitted all the required documentation well in advance, like all of you, but the background check and medical are still listed as "Incomplete". I have emailed and called but to no avail. Thanks in advance ?

I sent mine in within the 2 weeks the application went online and fortunately everything was marked completed. I did email them a lot and made sure I saw completed.

It looks like they've already accepted 19 students. You check the open seats available for Nursing 101...think this is unfair because the students who get accepted last get stuck with whatever teachers are left...ugh

Yea, this is all extremely annoying. My background check and medical documents are still showing incomplete.

Arnold said we would know 1-3 weeks after the application closes.. but it is concerning it looks like they’re looking an applications one by one...

for everyone who is worried about the "incomplete" medical docs and background check, DO NOT WORRY. I asked ms. holloway and she said the program update that info. when I called the program, they said that even though it says incomplete, they'll have your castle branch info and can tell that it is completed.

The entire process is a nerve-racking ordeal. No return calls and no return emails makes the waiting even worse.

Steve, my background check and medical still show incomplete too.

I looked back to last year's post and it looks as though they began notifying people after the first week in December. Maybe the 19 students already accepted are those that weren't selected last time around.

Hello,

I just called the nursing office and they said they sent out the first rounds of acceptance emails so check your portal. Did anyone get accepted yet? All my documents are complete but I still haven't heard anything.

I didn’t get any emails and no change to my portal:(
