Maimonides Hospital?

Published

Hey, everyone. I have been searching for jobs in NYC and have numberous interviews. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on Maimonides Hospital, or SIUH. I plan on coming to NYC towards the end of this month so I can do all of my interviews and apartment/home searching. Any advice in general about relocating would also be appreciated! :) Thanks!

:o Hello, anyone here!!!

I worked at Maimonadies. What a joke of a hospital:rotfl: I don't know what floor you are intending on working on, but I can tell you about the medical floor with that witch of a manager Elenor!:angryfire The floor is horrendous! They put contact isolation patients in the same semi-private room as non- contact isolation patients. Also they have T.B. patients who are not in isolation until whoops...a week later they decide to put the patient in isolation after the whole damn unit has ben exposed. Also there are people working there with bad attitudes:angryfire I was told my first day in computer orientation to "watch my back" because people love to lie on you. I could not wait to get out! I am at a better hospital now. I would suggest you work at some other hospitals like Mount Sinai, NYU, or Columbia in Manhattan. All I can say is good luck if you go to work at Maimonadies -what a sorry excuse of a hospital!

ucandoit, I sent you a private message. Also, I know that some hospitals, including Maimonides, allow you to shadow a nurse during a shift if you like. You can ask Nurse Recruitment about that.

Hi, I live in NY. I work at St. Vincent's. I have several friends that work at SIUH. IT is a great hospital to work at. The pay is good and the patient-nurse ratio is excellent. They also hire new RN's into specialties. The only reason I didn't go there to work is because they mainly have 8 hr shifts and I prefer 12.
