I have to take my LVN test next week and I have no idea what to study for. I don't even know what the test is called! Can someone please help me?
I live in Texas, if that helps.

Hi, are you talking about the LVN entrance exam? If so, where I am from in Texas, it is called the NET (Nurse Entrance Test). Hope this answers your question.

I don't know what it's called. I contacted a family member of mine to ask her what she took for it and she said she took this test called 'TEAS' (Texas Essential Acadmeic Skills) (???) Which one is that and what would you need it for? I can't find any books to study for either, could you please help?
Hello, mynameisbrittainy,:balloons:
I am sorry for the confusion. I thought you were seeking info on the NCLEX exam. I have moved your request back to the LPN/LVN forum.
You need to check with a Texas school and see what the name of the exam is. Good luck.
I PM'd you, I wasn't sure where your post was moved to.

Hello everyone,
I might be getting out of the Navy where I have been a corpsman for almost 3 years and I hear I can challenge the LVN/LPN board for certification. I wish someone could tell me (a) where to get the materials to study for the challenge (b) where/how to apply for it and © What it would cost me. I am a resident of Texas but currently in California and plan to go where the pay is better. Can someone please help me?

hi there. my school provided me with an nclex-pn review book but honestly i skimmed through all of that. the thing that helped me passed however were the nclex-pn index cards. the questions are similar to that on the exam. they're also very handy if you're always on the go and want to flip through them during your down time. try and look for CD-roms that provide nclex style tests that you can take as well. the one's i used at school were called "incredibly easy for nurses." every other day for 2 months i would study from my textbooks i used for school, going through each system, and test myself on that specific system through the CD and it was very helpful as i passed the first time. the nclex answers are very tricky (all the answers are potentially correct!) but they are also about prioritization of care.. so pick up a useful book that teaches you prioritization and also, REMEMBER YOUR ABC's. hope this helps!

Since this discussion was originally started in 2005, I'm assured the original poster is no longer seeking advice on the issue at hand. :)
