What does it mean if an LVN program is approved by Texas Workforce? I'm confuse because I thought the school or the program has to be approved by State of Texas(BNE).
Thanx guys!

all lvn programs in texas have to be approved by the board of nurses. what they are talking about here is the texas workforce commission retrains people who are out of work , have a mental disability or on welfare. people that attend programs that are twc approved are eligible to have their expenses covered. texas workforce commission pays for all my husbands engineering books and partial tuition (at uta) if needed. it is a good program.

txspadequeen921, the LVN program I'm talking about, you have to pay 12k for the 1yr program, but when I went to their home page it says it is approved by Texas Workforce. So what does this mean?
is the texas workforce paying for your lvn school? it means that the texas workforce will cover some of the cost if you are a client of theirs. if you don't know who the twc is then sounds like you are paying for this with some type of financial aid. which school is it? if you are unsure about accreditation of a particular school get on the texas bon site and look it up.

No, I'm not woking for TWC, this school in question is not Accredited, is not even listed on Texas BON site, but when I when to the school home page, it says the school is approved by TWC, so does this means the school is approved by the State of TX or what? Is a new Voc-tech school.

I'd confirm with the Texas Workforce People. Usually have many sites throughout the state. Make an appt, go in and talk to them. Se what they have to say and what you need to do, have, whatever to qualify. IMO
if the school is not approved by the bon then you need to find somewhere else to go. the texas workforce commission has nothing to do with the bon. you need to look for schools that have been approved by the board of nurses. go to their web site and look up schools in your area.
