I am not one to post on here about myself but I feel like I have to get my story off my chest so I can stop from going crazy. I just took the nclex-rn this morning and it shut off after 77 questions. This is my third time taking it. The first time I took it I went to Kaplan live review 4 months before the test and did 265 questions, obviously I failed. the second time I did all of the qbank from Kaplan and saw my scores increase from low 50% to upper 60%. I failed the second time with 96 questions. So this time I re-took Kaplan and did a hurst live review, this time I had a lot of pharm questions and only a few sata, priority, and critical thinking, and 2 put in order. This time I truly feel like I failed it. I live in California so I am unable to have a quick result done and was debating in my head if I should try the PVT. It just sucks because it feels like the more im reviewing for this test, the worse I do.

Do the trick. I too am waiting for results and found a way. Go to register for exam, DO NOT get upset when it lets you pass to enter your credit card... Since updates to pearsons site anyone can do this... Enter your card information but do not give the correct expiration (as it can't charge your card) click next, then click submit. If you failed I read it will alert you that your card information is incorrect, if you passed you will get the big red triangle pop up stating "our records indicate you recently scheduled an exam you cannot register at this time" (I did this and got the triangle). I know people have said lately that the trick no longer works which may be true... BUT after reading a lot of blog posts people's reasons were as follows "it let me go to enter my credit card information then I found out I passed" . That is how the trick used to work! Now it works after you submit payment
Good luck!

sorry about your experience. I honestly don't think Kaplan worked for me. It failed me the first time. It's really strategy/decision tree based, and NCLEX questions are mostly knowledge based questions. So the strategy/decision tree doesn't always apply. Hurst review was good for content, but I think LaCharity and Saunders also helped tremendously. Most importantly, doing questions daily is required to help you get used to the style. I passed the second time. You have to figure out your weakness first and go from there. PM me if you need help. I have notes I can pass on.

I will vouch that Saunders is the best. It was the only one I used. Passed on first try
I didn't really use the Kaplan tree last time and it could have really benefitted me, this time I used it and most of the questions I got were " pt is taking blah blah blah, what statement from pt lets nurse know teaching was effective/ineffective." it will be 24 hours in 15 minutes and don't know if I should just wait or try the pvt. if I try the pvt, I have to call customer support to get my user name and password cause every time I scheduled my test, I had to call the accomendation center, not on-line.
well I waited over 24 hours since I finished the exam, 33 hours to be exact, and I got the bad pop-up. I used a card with the wrong expiration date and it told me my card was declined

lrdcn3, please stay positive
How I understand the use of the PVT to check unofficial results, you must wait 24-48 hours due to your examination is scored twice for quality control purposes by the NCSBN. After the wait period, you may use a debit/credit card but with a valid expiration date, otherwise, your results will not be accurate.
