LPNs scope of practice Beta B

It is within the scope of practice for LPN to administer beta blocker treatment after heart attack? Thank you for responding!

With a physician order yes unless IV push then it depends on state

In most all states LPNs may administer medications. Oral, IM, Sub q, RS, Per Enteral tubes, Inhalation, Ophthalmic, IV infusion and piggy back etc. Although some states do, many states do not permit LPNs to push IV Meds. But if the beta blocker is within approved routes, and the attending physician orders it, perfectly acceptable.
