LPN's in dialysis?

Published

Hi, I have an interview at Fresenius next week. I do not have any dialysis experience.

Can anyone advise me on salary , scheduling, typical hours per week?

The position is full time , but I've read that the hours are very long and a lot overtime is worked.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Specializes in RN, BSN, CHDN.

Depends on how much RN experience you have, schedules can depend on facility-Hours are no worse and no longer than floor nursing. Probably can get overtime once you are experienced and can work alone.

Also depends on what state, good opportunities for training, promotion.

Hard job, not like it used to be-dialysis is one of the most highly regulated specialities in the country these days.

Most chronic facilities run their patients as scheduled. Your hours should be very predictable. On the other hand, I've heard that acutes are feast or famine. Sometimes you may not have enough hours to get a full-time check and sometimes you'll get more overtime than your body can handle.

Thanks for the info!

I appreciate it.
