LPN's in county jail?

Can anyone tell me what types of duties an LPN might have at a county jail? Thanks! There is a position open I am interested in, but they don't really give much for a job description in the posting.

It will depend on how the facility uses them. You will have med passes, treatments, assist with MD and PA call, intakes, emergencies, detox, and documentation. It is much like a blend of long term care, clinic, pysch ward and ER. Good luck. It is the best kept secret in nursing.

the LPNs where I work do everything the RN does except the Health Physical. Our LPNs have a ton of experience and the RNS mostly do not; they are all very capable and we work as a team with no heirarchy issues, except the FT people tend to have more say in things than the PRN.
