hello, im thinking of starting at nexcare to become an lpn. at this moment i have been accepted to hfcc respiratory therapist program. i am so lost @ which program i should choose. i have worked as a cna for 5 years. so the nurseing seems like it would be great to move in to. i have had asthma all my life so respiratory therapy would be great as well
i guess my scare is that if i go the rt route, i will get out and not find a job.. if i go the lpn route i know i will get out and find a job.
bump for help

I think you should look at the job prospects in your area for each one. You mentioned that you are a CNA. Do you currently work at a facility that could offer you a job after you finish school?
As for RT, I really think that's a cool profession :) I spoke to a RT once when I did my peds clinicals & she said that there are a lot of different arenas that a RT could work in: long term care (especially in facilities that have vent & trach dependent patients), hospitals, and home health just to name a few. Good luck :)
yes my job hires both, but from what i see there are 1 rt job per 5 lpn jobs..
That's great! My biggest regret is quitting my job while in school..it's super rough out here! But if you find that you're struggling while in school..cut back your hours or go PRN...whatever you do though, DON'T QUIT lol.
