Hello . I have been an LPN for over 6 years now . The past 4 years I have practiced in home health setting . I was fired yesterday and am being reported to the board of nursing by my previous employer for falsifying documents. I have always been a great nurse and asset to my team . My patients love me and I never get complaints . I made a stupid decision . I seen one of my patients on two occasions and after performing care and doing my assessment the patient had something to go do so instead of having the patient sign , I later finished my documentation and then signed the patients name . I know how stupid it was and regret it deeply ! I am terrified about my license and have no clue what is going to happen . Has anyone been in a similar situation or heard of such . I'm curious as to what to do legally and what my form of discipline will be for this filed complaint to the board of nursing . Please help !
Thanks

Get an attorney because it's going to get complicated and you want your rights protected
Do you have any clue on what my disciplinary action would be ??

If your states makes disciplinary decisions public you could start reading previous cases there.
