Lpn to RN!

So I don't know of any other way to make this sound less "duh!" Than what it is...those of you who have done Lpn to RN do you believe being an Lpn helped a lot, or not really? I'm officially working on my BSN starting in the fall (when straight to Lpn school after highschool so I have no pre-req classes ?) but I have been an Lpn for a little over a year! Let the countdown begin!

My LPN experience helped me, but it hindered some of my classmates. Let me explain...

My classmates kept getting test questions wrong because they applied their real world nursing experience when attempting to answer these questions. We all know that, in the ideal textbook world of nursing, you have only one patient with unlimited time, equipment, resources and coworkers at your disposal. But in the real world of nursing, we deal with multiple patients and juggle time constraints, lack of supplies, and short staffing.

To keep a long story short, many of my classmates were answering the questions with the option they would pick in the real world of nursing while forgetting that there's a fairytale textbook world of nursing from which most of the answers are derived.

Thanks Commuter. I just started my bridge and that is great advice I hope I can remember this!
