LPN or RN?

I have a bachelors degree in another field and I want to get my degree in Nursing. There are limited options in the Tampa area unless you want to pay big bucks for a private school. Should I get my LPN and then study for my LPN to BSN bridge online? I am currently getting all my pre-reqs done and should be done by summer, but I now I have to plan way ahead of time for the limited nursing school spots. Since do not plan on working while in school, I am looking for the quickest way to working in a hospital. While getting my pre-req done, I am also getting my phlebotomy certification. Trying to cover all my bases.

Also, does any one know of any hospitals in the Tampa/St Pete area that are willing to pay for a BSN in exchange for a work commitment of so many years?

Recommend the RN route.

Know so many LPNs that regret having to go back and picking up the additional classes / clinicals / license exam.

Good luck!

Have you thought about getting a ABSN?

USF offers an ABSN option for people with a bachelors degree in another field. If you want a quick path to an RN, that's your ticket. Not to mention getting your BSN should make you more marketable.
