hey triniangel,
i currently attend western suffolk boces' part time, evening program in northport, li. it's an 18 month program (m-th 6pm-10pm and every other saturday from 8am-3pm). it's a very intense program and we've lost just about half of our original class of 34 . it is also somewhat competitive to get into although most of my classmates didn't think the entrance exam was really all that difficult. it's a very good program if you're committed and focused and depending on where you live it's definitely worth looking into (it's quite a commute for me). there's also an lpn program at eastern suffolk boces in bellport but i understand they're a little more expensive than the one in northport. you could also check out suny farmingdale's lpn program as well as bronx community college, laguardia cc and medgar evers. these programs are also quite good, but they have waiting lists and you have to complete their pre-reqs before you can actually begin the program. i personally did not like anything about veeb when i went to check it out but that's just my opinion. i have had a couple of people tell me that they didn't feel very prepared to work upon graduation. there's a sticky of all the nys lpn programs listed at the beginning of this forum. check it out and begin calling different programs to check out their requirements. good luck and if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

How much is the tution at western soffolk boces? And does financial aid cover everything?
I graduated in April it was $8400, and there is financial aid available, in fact there is a specific person that is able to help you.
Evinsangel is right, the 13 mon program is very intense, we started off with 27 students and only nine made it.
TriniAngel tuition for the class that just started in September was roughly $10,000. I'm not sure of the exact amount but I do know that it was just over that amount. Financial aid IS available. They work it just like you're applying to college.

Hi rosienurse345,
I am planning on applying for the lpn program for march 2010, i got the brochure today but i am confuse a/b the entrance exam....it says you have to take a entrance exam and then the teas.. what does it consist of? Thanks so much...
I'm sorry, they have probably changed entrance requirements since I've graduated from there. I graduated 5 yrs ago, we just had to take the NET exam, that was it. You can buy NET book online, anyway they may offer prep courses for the NET and TEAS.
