Lpn-bsn

Published

Hello. I am considering doing a LPN-BSN program and skipping the associates all together. Does anyone know any good programs that can be completed in a relatively short time?

I believe most lpn to BSN programs take at least 3 or more years to complete after pre reqs. I saw one that was 5 years! I was like yeah right. I know the RN-BSN takes 2 years. Your best bet is to go for your ASN bc there isnt much of a pay difference between a ASN and BSN. After that Id look into an ASN-MSN program....more and more are emerging all over the place and it is to your advantage bc its faster to skip the whole bsn and go straight for MSN which is going to benefit your career much more significantly. Here in Central FL there is an ASN to MSN available if u have a high gpa (at least 3.0)where u can finish in 2 years! that would be awesome...

My LVN to BSN program is 4 semesters after the horrid 64 hours of pre classes...

wow! I wish I lived in TX bc Ill bet I have most of the 64 hr pre reqs. I would hop right on that! :)

The University of Phoenix has an online LPN to BSN program that looks pretty good. It looks like it would take about 2-3 yrs but you can do it from home.

I did jump on it ,but now that I think about it I have to take a nursing elective during the summer (5 week course) . So I guess you could say 4.5 or even 5 semesters.

Hey TX, where in Tx is your program? coz I can do 4 semesters no problem. Am even willing to relocate for it. I saw U of Arkansas Jonesboro has a lpn-bsn prog that is 4 semesters after prereqs but I wish I could take some summer classes and cut out one of the other semesters but I don't think that's an option. Anyone else with leads please lemme know and post the name of the school too so I can check out the website

I go to Tarleton State University in Stephenville Texas. Like I mentioned in my last post there is one summer class to take but it seems to be a very reasonable program. Im not sure if you can move up the classes to finish faster or not. I would think No because clinicals follow the courses and they couldnt keep up with everybody if they were in different semesters\clinicals. Good Luck to you....You can get on their website...

Do you know much about the LPN-BSN program they offer? What is required to get in and how they do the clinicals? When would you be eligible to sit for your RN boards?
