When do you start? This summer or the spring? I just graduated from that program. several things have changed since I started there a year ago. Our new instructors were awesome--- loved them. The role transition class was a lot of APA papers when I took it last summer but I had a different teacher so I am not sure of the set up. Get ready for Kaplan í ½í¸©. My class HATED it with a passion. You'll have two shots at passing the challenge exam (Kaplan). We had to make a 75 and it was HARD. Start looking ahead now if you can and brush up on fundamentals and med surg one. I studied all summer last year for it and failed it the first time with a 64. Only three people passed it out of 50 the first round but all but one passed the second time. It's difficult but just study ahead and you will be okay :) it's a good program but I am thankful to be finished! It's definitely an intense year of studying but you can do it!! Good luck !

Hi thanks for your post I start in the Summer I think June 1, I haven't received any other info except that I should get more info in the days to come. Do you recommend any books for the challenge exam? I have been brushing up on dosage calculations and pharmacology. Subscribing to a Qbank is also something I was wanting to do. What time do classes usually start and is it everyday or just some days? I wish I had more information that way I could arrange childcare for my kids. I'm really excited to start this program I think I'm more worried about the pharmacology than anything else. Where did you do your clinical's at? I have a green pharmacology book that I purchased months ago to study with its Pharmacology and the Nursing Practice 7th edition: is this the required book? I'm so nervous I haven't worked in at least two years and when I did it was all clinic. I'm not scared because I'm up for a challenge I just don't want to be so behind. For the challenge exam the only thing that helped me was doing the Kaplan Q-bank questions. They should be giving all of the students a kaplan basics book (you can find it for free on amazon to download to a kindle or kindle app). I did not find it useful, but in the mean time it is something to look at. I had health assessment on monday nights from 5:30-7:30 and pharmacology on wednesday nights at the same time, and the role transition class was completely online. When I started the program health assessment and pharm were pre-req's and we had to pass them before taking role transition. I think they have changed it now to where the new classes will take all three classes in one semester. I am not sure who is teaching which classes now because they have done alot of revamping with the program but I'm sure it will be a smoother transition for you all than it was for us. That's the most frustrating thing about TSU--- waiting for clarification :/ I quit my LPN job last August so that I could focus completely on school.We did not lose any students this past semester and almost everyone worked at least part time. Pharm was challenging, but health assessment wasn't so bad. You do have to do a head to toe check off before you pass the class though.
