Hello!
I am in an LPN-ADN bridge program, and I will join the second semester of nursing classes in January. I am so excited, and feel like the pieces of my life are finally falling into place. The issue my mind is having, is my ability to work and do this program well. I found LPN school to be very difficult, especially since I was working full time and did not know ANYTHING about the medical field. I was always stressed, and wondered if being a nurse was the right path for me. Now that I am an LPN, I feel better in that regard: I really feel as though nursing is the best career for me, and I absolutely love working with patients. However, I still have to work full time, and I am very worried about my success. I want to do really well, since I would like to be an NP in the future..
So, LPNs... Did you find the RN program to be easier with the LPN background, or was it just as difficult for you?

For me, the LVN program was challenging. While it was not the hardest endeavor I've ever encountered by a long shot, it challenged me emotionally and academically.
The LPN-to-ASN bridge program was significantly easier for me. Although I worked full time during the entire length of the program, I graduated with honors.
I am now enrolled in an online RN-to-BSN completion program, and in my estimation, it has been the easiest nursing program out of the three I've undertaken.

I have personally struggled but not because of lack of understanding but a lack of ability to apply my knowledge on the test; its the weirdest thing. I know its mainly because I'm mentally burnt. I don't want to quit, I want to graduate and get licensed so I can move on.

I am in NU201, second to last semester. Became an LPN and tested out of NU201. I work one day a week in addition to 4 days at school. For me, it's very very hard. The subject matter is a layer deeper than than the LPN, and that's not so bad, but the clinicals, paperwork, stress of grades, papers etc. It's a lot. Hubby says I often have a 'deer in the headlights' look. I'm doing well, but I couldn't imagine working any more than I am. I took out full loans to cover (partially) expenses. Good luck in whatever you decide. :)
