I recently applied to two different schools and both rejected me mainly due my GPA from my previous bach (non-nursing). I really want to start the NP program soon possibly this fall. If anyone knows of great NP online programs please let me know. Or if you were in this situation and finished the NP program how did you improve your GPA or what school did you attend. I would really appreciate any inputs.

What was your nursing school gpa?
Overall GPA is 2.9,
RN (2 years) is 3.0
RN-BSN is 3.2
Were you in the same situation?

Highly unlikely to be accepted for admission with that GPA in programs I am familiar with. No ideas about what steps to take because NP programs have different policies on how they accept course re-takes (to improve grade) & exactly how they calculate GPA.
I know with that GPA its really difficult to get accepted to any program. I know online programs are accepting students with lower GPA but its hard to get clinical sites.

Yeah, most NP programs in our area won't touch you with an overall GPA that is that low. Do some research and see if you can find reputable programs that might take you. Or take additional courses to boost your GPA that would help you with NP school

My overall right now is 3.28. I hit some bumps in the road before I really knew what I wanted to do and knew what I was really capable of doing. Now I'm busting my hump to get the overall above 3.5.
The school I'm attending counts four courses towards the GPA for entry. There is no mention of overall. However, they say a 2.5 in those courses is required to apply, but they don't mention that a 2.5 will NOT get you in. There was a period that no one with less than a 3.5 in those four classes got in - and it may have been an overall 3.5. one plus at my school is that they consider those who took all of their courses at that school before those who did not. That could be a problem for you where you're looking.
Either way - always play to the GPA! A "W" is better than an "F". Keep trying!

I disagree that a W is better than a F. It affects your financial aid and some schools look at a W the same as a F. You really need to research schools that interest you and talk to advisors about what you need to do to bring it up.
