Looking for schools in CA

Hello, I was recently accepted to a LPN program in Indiana that would start in August and then my husband got his "dream job" in California. sighhh doesn't it just figure. I was lucky to get into this program, My test score was so so...I'm 50..not great in Math, but I think I sold them in the interview and was selected for the program. Now I had to tell them no thanks. :cry:We are moving to the Lancaster Area (Edwards AFB) and I have looked at the Joseph School of nursing, but would also like to consider a 2 year RN program somewhere, is anyone has any advice. I know NOTHING of the area, we are not even there yet.

Any advice from those who know, would be greatly apprciated! Also..how does LVN and LPN work...if I become an LVN and then move back to INdiana eventually, do I become an LPN automatically? Just wondering. Thanks for any advice! I hope I like it there! :)

Welcome to the av. If I could give you any advice, it would be to not to even think of going to joseph's school of nursing.

I can't even begin to tell you the problems I had with them. The most important piece of info I can give you is to google california business portal

Look up excel nursing school (that is the corporation jsn is under. Look @ the address, they match).

I go to js and it isn't illegal!!:chuckle

My parents went through strenuous background checks of this school before allowing me to even go there.

The Only thing i can say is the owner is strict and runs a tight ship.:nurse:

here it is under the bvnpt:

Please help!!!

I am trying to get in the RN program. I have wasted a 1 1/2 trying to get into local community college. I decided to look into private nursing schools. I live in Merced and it seems the only private school I can find is SJVC visalia. I know they are a lot of money but I was just trying to find other schools or is my only option SJVC Visalia?

National University in Fresno has a Generic/Post-Bac BSN program. It is also CCNE accredited:

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Will look into tomorrow. I do appreciate it :D

You did your homework!:yeah: "nonysays" however, jsn is active status again and all is ok for now:cool:. In response to greenie101, Look for a nursing school with a solid track record like for example title IV schools that actualy offer Financial Aid and are recognized by the US department of education (throughout the US) so when you later decide to further your education no matter where u move to its all accounted for. I know of only three in the AV that have such distinctions and they are CCI (Career Care Institute) ten year track record and AV Medical College which is now AV University also with a ten year track record, and AV College. I suggest that you also do your homework! Please do your research, I'm glad I did!

I am also looking into going to SJVC for my LVN to RN program however I am also considering Western Career College in Sac. So far I think the cost for Western is $35000 an it's 9 months program. I am from Atwater and just pass my Nclex, looking for a job and also finishing up my schooling. If you have any information about any other school or program please respond... Thanks in advance!
