Looking for EHR Checklist

Published

New to Nursing Education, and have been assigned to put together a Powerpoint on proper EHR Documentation, focusing on reimbursement connected to nursing Documentation. If anyone has a checklist on this it would be great help. Most of what I can find is on Coding, but coders use nursing documentation to code for billing.

Thanks, but already spent a few hours trying random word and word group searches with some ideas, ... actually looking to see if anyone has one already made.

My guess is that if someone already has one made, it's proprietary, and they are not likely able to share that with you.

CMS regulations can guide you as far as knowing what specific nursing documentation needs to be present in order for your billers/coders to charge for procedures, interventions.

There are consulting firms out there that do this.......and they charge ton of cash. It won't be on line. My sister (who's also a nurse) goes around the country doing this and makes great money. That won't be on google...:)

i second the above two posters. i have one, but it is not mine to share. with that said, maybe you can talk to the umr department in your facility and talk to those nurses. that way the information you have stays in-house and came from nurses who are in-house.

PS- If you are purchasing, or have already, a specific EHR software program/package, that is generally included in the package, with the ability for each hospital/provider to fine tune the needs specific to their services.
