Please let your doc know how you are feeling.
Md's often treat their pts empirically; that is if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck its probably a duck; but maybe not. Please be as succinct as you can with your MD when describing your feelings

zoloft was prescribed for me at a time of loss in my life, I felt like I was on speed. Please talk with your doctor as everyone gives their own 2 cents. They found a kinder gentler drug that helped me in my time of loss.
k went back to the dr n he has stopped the zoloft and prescribed citalopram instead. will see wat happens.

I'm getting in on this late, but just thought I would chime in.
What you expeirenced with Zoloft is not that uncommon, but is also not something most people have to worry about. I would chalk it up to Zoloft just not being right for you.
As far as Celexa goes, you should get good results from it. While I rarely prescribe the drug, I will say that it has the lowest rate of side effects of any of the SSRI's.
Hopefully this will put you on the right course.

Also of note. If the Celexa doesn't work out or if it looses it's effectivness after a while you might give Lexapro a try.
It is similar to Celexa except it affects the other side of the brain than Celexa.
I recently was on Celexa for a close to two years and it started loosing it's effectivness which can be common and switched over to Lexapro and have never felt better.
Good luck!
thank you for the replies, hopefully the celexa will work.
I shared my expereince with what zoloft felt like for me. It was my doctor who chose the second drug that worked so well.
I am sitting here and drug names are being rattled off, half of them are advertised on TV but at least they say in the ad, call your doctor.
I just might take the name dropping advice the next time my patient doesn't like their chemo, I will pick up or the pro crit ad,and lot check their RBC's. Just to make sure they can run their bed and breakfast, and not cancel visitors who have been coming for years.
Talk is too cheap. It reminds me of the little old ladies who used to sit on south Beach ( prior to it'd becoming the new riviera, and sit in the senior center saying to each other, Hey Bessie, I will trade you 2 blues for one green!
Go to your gatekeeper, mine is my primary care physician who knows me for 15 years.
