I am so sick. We were just told that due to declining Medicare reimbursement they shut down our subacute department, about 60 full-time employees. Plus, they will be getting rid of 50 other full time employees hospital wide. Every department must let go of 2, mine must let 3 go. I HATE this, these are awesome employees. Anyone else facing this? I just fell like I can't be part of this organization. Everything was fine, until 5 months ago the local competing hospital started talking about financial problems and filing bankrupsy. All of a sudden, since there is nowhere else to go, we are having problems. So, in addition to medication reconcilliation, pneumonia shots, meds, admissions paperwork, the nurses will now have to answer almost all their own call lights.:angryfire

This is a truly terrible situation. I wish you the best.
