Kava

I drink many herbal teas, are these ok? I was surprised to find out that Motrin, typical and benadryl need to be oked.

Motrin does not need to be okay'd in TPAPN program.

In mine (IPN) Motrin and Tylenol is ok, benedryl is not. We get referred to that Talbot recovery manual. (Google the name, it’ll come up) It categorizes all sorts of common OTC meds and Rx stuff that is straight up Nope! (Without begging anyway) and “generally accepted.” Pretty much, anything that could possibly be abused, they raise an eyebrow at, benedryl being one of them. I’m not sure how or if they test for benedryl. I’m not one to try them, though.

As far as herbal teas? Unless you are talking chamomile, mint, etc. In my opinion, I wouldn’t chance it. You get into the stuff with all sorts of obscure ingredients, The deity of your choosing only knows what it could metabolize into....

Thank you for the Talbott resource information! I have been in a program almost 5 years and I have never known about this. I will forward it to my colleagues.

As far as Kava goes... just stay away! If you have to ask about it, don't do it. In this game we're in, why risk it?!

Best to everyone
