Kaplan Success

Hello, everyone. I will be taking NCLEX in two weeks and I find myself getting nervous as the date gets closer. I would like to know if you had any success with Kaplan. Please share how long you prepared, what were your scores and did you use any other methods or additional resources to study. Thank you all.

Hey Chineye,

I honestly would say that Kaplan is thr best review program in my experience. Their video content was really all I needed to pass. I took a week to watch the vids and make flashcards and studied from there. Took me 1-2 months to prepare for NCLEX using solely kaplan. Passed w 75Qs. My scores ranged from 60-69%

I used solely kaplan for about a week and half. Passed Nclex first time with 75q.

I also used Kaplan and passed with 75 questions. Prepared for about two months but didn't complete the qbank but I did complete all the trainers and readiness exam.

I used kaplan and passed with 149 questions

Thank you all for responding. I appreciate it. Did any of you find Kaplan to be harder than Nclex?

Jmein were you able to complete Kaplan in that amount of time, how many hours a day did you prepare?

I did the readiness, diagnostic, qt1-7, samples 1-4, the alternate format qbank and some more from the qbank. I also did the 4 day live online anywhere review. I made sure I read every rationale for every question I did. I ended up doing about 2000 questions in a week and a half. I also went back to my kaplan book and buffed up on areas I knew I was weak in and went over lab values and procedures. My school really prepared me as well content wise. I would usually study from about 12pm to 6pm everyday with plenty of breaks in between so my brain wasn't totally fried. And my personal opinion was Kaplan was much more wordier then NCLEX and a bit harder, but the NCLEX is different for everyone so it just depends on the questions you get and if you know your content. Kaplan stressed don't pass the buck unless you REALLY have to which really is helpful when approaching a question.
