Kaplan Nursing

Hello all,

I am currently enrolled in the M.A. program at Kaplan, and am hoping to be accepted into the ADN program there in September. I took the Wonderlic and received a 32 and I got a 86 on math and 86 on reading on the KTP. I am going to retake the KTP in hopes of a higher score, but what do you think my chances of getting accepted are now? I currently hold a 4.0 in my M.A. class.

Thanks!

Retook the ktp and got 95 on reading. Applications are received on June 15th or 16th I believe. Math on ktp is elementary. Reading is focused on inference. Not hard if you are a reader and can understand what a writer is trying to convey, without actually stating it.

Oh wow that's a relief IM sure you will get in with those scores did they let you use a calculator on the wonderlic how hard was that? IM going in next week to take the sle

You use a calculator on the math. It's simple but made simple mistakes

Hi do you have any advice on the reading section for the KTP exam? I am struggling trying to pass that section. Any advice will be grealty apprecitated =).

The reading is all about inference. Read the passage then the questions and answer according to what the author is trying to convey.

Did you use any study material for the reading section?

Are you in the RN program for Kaplan?

I did not study for the reading section but if if this is a difficult subject for you than try reading a college level literature book just brush up a little on vocab. Inference understanding is best gained by reading books over time.

Sounds good!!! :)

Congrats on getting accepted! I did my test today and scored horrible and 78% on math. For some reason the reading for me is difficult I missed 6 and 2 from running out of time. I think the last passage on feminist thing made me take a lot of time. And the Great Lake passage and the one with the burger law. I'm bummed I have one more try. I really want to get in and start January 2015. Any tips. My brain is fried from studying so much and I still haven't gotten reading down all the way. =|

Thank you so much! On the test I would suggest going through and answering the questions you are confident are correct. The other questions you need take sure you understand exactly what you are being asked first, then read through the passage and extract only the relevant information. Visit khan academy's website and other math help sites for basic math help before you retake the ktp. A general understanding of algebra and fractions is important for this test. Good luck!

Hi Mindy,

M name is Rose I also am trying to prep for the ktp. Did you try and take notes after the exam? You can email me at [email protected] and we can tey and help each other out. I scored an 82% in math, but reading i scored 70%. The reading was pretty challenging.
