Hi has anyone interviewed or worked at Kaiser? My company says the interview is an hour over the phone. I cant imagine what kinds of questions they might ask.

You heard correct, the Kaiser interview is from 45 min to and hour fifteen and they are detailed.
It has been a while since I interview but there are four parts and they drill you on
1. Medications specific to where you will be working.
2. Protocols such as CHF, Tele, procedures ect
3. Case scenario's (what would you do in situations)
4. General questions about you.
It's pretty intense! Good luck.

Hey I was wondering if you had interviewd for them yet? My recruiter has sent off my Resume to them, and told me the interview was very indepth...unusaly long compared to most places. I was just wondering if you had interviewed with them, if you could PM me, I would like to know.
I interviewed with them 6 months ago, not recently. I declined to work for them because my wife got a position at another hospital and we like to work at the same place. Also because I have not heard good things about them.

so i just found this thread because i was looking for west LA info, but thought I would post what I recently wrote to another member about my interview experience with AMN for Kaiser, in case it would help someone else: i found my notes.
first they'll tell you about their float policy, ask how many years as an RN, have you worked for kaiser, have you worked with computers (they use EPIC, healthconnect), what shifts do you prefer, what size hospital are you comfortable working with?
questions:
have you experienced a time ....(conflict management, keep in mind patient safety, teamwork as part of your answer) (you could say, i can't remember a time but if i did....)
have you ever observed another nurse.... (intercede for patient safety)
what is your take on customer service (or something like that)
Kaiser core values include: customer service: keep patients informed, be available, show i care
remember 6 rights: patient, time, med, route, dose, documentation
situations: mischarting, angry patient, disagree with a dx,
they may give you three or four patients (nclex style here!) and ask which patient needs attention first. i suggest talking it out. i had a 10yo asthma and a 21 lady partsl bleed. i went into saying you need to look at the patient and their vitals. both could be stable or one could head into needing major meds and the other could be an ectopic bleeding out with a SBP of 50, right?
also they asked me what some meds are for (i can only remember albuterol, dopamine, vecuronium).
thats about all i can remember/wrote down, at the end, ask for the job!
good luck! it was about 45min but went smoothly. felt good being prepared and i aced the interview. you will too!

Kaiser West LA cancelled their needs at the time I was interviewing but I guess what else is new. I would have probably taken the chance and gone there though
was it for ER by chance?:)
