Just wondering....

:monkeydance: I am going to be a new grad in about two weeks. I feel like I know absolutely nothing. How long after I start working will I feel confident or at the least comfortable?

A long time. Usually about a year or so. Seriously. Don't expect to be an expert. There's a lot to retain, and a lot to learn. Good luck and congratulations!

One nurse has told me once, the day that you start feeling like you know everything about your job, is the day that you need to change what you are doing.

One of our instructors told us the other day it took well after a year before she realized one day that she wasn't questioning everything she did and asking for advice from fellow RNs. That's about consistent with everything I've ever read/heard -- one to two years.
