I got my LPN in January 2011. I am graduating with my RN in December. Applied for and interviewed for 2 LTC LPN jobs this past week. I am a very confident person in all areas of life, BUT I am nervous as @#LL to hit the floor. Guess some nervousness should be expected...just saying,

thats normal it takes i would say about six months to feel comfortable in your position as a new grad and realize you are always learning and you don't know it all and never will none of us ever do:) you'll do fine:) good luck

It took me a year as a néw grad to feel comfortable in my job. Everybody says it's normal and no 2 people are the same. Just go in with the idea that you will learn something new everyday and know you're only human and you should be fine.

Specializes in Peds/outpatient FP,derm,allergy/private duty.

Congrats on your accomplishments! It's the people who aren't nervous when first starting out that I worry about. There are ways to cut that down some (try to get enough rest, don't go too long without eating, hydrating and taking bathroom pit stops, -- the chaos can go on without you for a few minutes! :) Get there early enough to gather yourself, and it does get better with time. Best wishes!
