Jurisprudence prep course

Published

Hi! I'm a BSN-RN with roughly 2 years of experience and I'm transferring from NV/CA to TX. Should I do the $25 3-week prep course for the 2-hours jurisprudence exam? I read somewhere that I can open other websites if I need any help. Is that true?

So not necessary to do the prep course. I passed it no problem with just using the website while taking the test.

Are you referring to the TX BON website itself?

Yes, I believe it says right on the info for the exam that you can have the TX BON website open to use as a resource during the test.

Specializes in Oncology.

I endorsed from California last year. I paid for the prep course, sat through it in one sitting and passed the exam on the first try. For me, it was worth the $25. You can open other website, but if you take the prep course you won't really need to.

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

Definitely not necessary. The Jurisprudence exam is an open website test...you can use the TX BON website to help search for the answers. Most of it is common sense, anyway. I didn't take the prep course, I just used the TX BON for reference and passed the exam on the first try. It wasn't difficult.

Just make take the time to briefly look through all the material and get an idea of what information can be found where and you will e all set. You can have multiple windows open while taking the test. Some of the questions are very common sense, others require you to look it up but its easy. Definitely don't need to take the course!

I failed the first time and did the online course, passed he second time. Thanks everyone for their input!

I am looking to endorse in Texas as well. Is the NJE covering material about Texas nursing laws or a nursing comp exam?

can you please suggest me how much does it cost for NJE exam?? Do we need to pay again if we failed the exam?
