Hi! I graduated in December and I'm currently scheduled to take the NCLEX at the end of April. But I would like to attend the August BOLC class instead of the July one, because Walter Reed (my #1 choice) is not available in July. Does anyone know how many spots are still available for the July BOLC class? And any tips to improve my chances of going in August instead of July?
My friend was on the same boat as I, but received her license last month and was forced to attend the July class and to pick a different hospital. Unfortunately, I'm not as flexible as she is because my fiance (also a military nurse) just received his orders for Walter Reed and he'll be there for the next 3 years.
Any information/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Sorry I can't answer your question
I do have a question to ask you. Are you ROTC? I heard that's the only way to get in right now for new nurses.

There is a form you fill out to request same duty station as your spouse. Shouldnt be too hard putting two ANC officers together. Catch is you HAVE to be married.

Hi,
I am also in the same situation. Have you received any update on your orders?
No, I'm still waiting! You?
Found out that I'll be attending BOLC in August and going to Walter Reed! I hope everything works out for you.

I am a new Army RN and I was told the August BOLC class filled up so now I am slotted for October BOLC. Do you all have any advice on how long it took you to get your orders? And when I should contact my BNC to follow up if I don't hear? I took my NCLEX June 9th so not really sure when I'll hear...
Did you mean July 9th? Because if you took it in June I'm pretty sure you would have been placed in August BOLC.
Anyway, as soon as you find out your NCLEX results, immediately let your BNC know. Email him/her all of the required information (License number, hospital ranks, etc) so he/she can request your orders. Contact your BNC if you're not sure what info he/she requires.
As for waiting for orders, I really have no idea. It can take as early as one week or as late as two months. My BNC said I was supposed to receive mine 2-4 weeks prior to BOLC, and I got mine yesterday (6 weeks prior). It's really out of our control so just try to your best no stress out too much!
The best advice I can give you is to communicate with your BNC as often as possible. What brigade are you in? I was in 8th, and both the BNCs I had were awesome. I emailed and/or texted them any question I had and they always responded. Don't be afraid to reach out to your BNC. They're there to help us!
