Has anybody joined the Navy with MSN? I am thinking of getting my Master’s before joining. Thoughts?

I am following this thread because I have the same questions. Although I have my MSN already and would like to know the benefits of this, if any.

In my experience, the only benefit to the MSN is that they start you one pay grade higher. I've heard some branches might be doing away with considering experience and advanced degrees for starting rank/pay grade. However, when I joined a nurse such as yourself, with 10 years of experience and an MSN, would start was an O-3 (captain in AF/Army, Lieutenant in Navy).
Thank you for all of your comments in my threads! I really appreciate the information from someone who knows.

Following. Am actually going to inquire about this to an officer recruiter.
I am currently in the process of joining the Navy Nurses Corps with a Navy Medical Recruiter. I was told that experience and education do usually increase your chances of starting out (after 5week training) at a higher rank then someone who has 5 years experience and a BSN.
