Hey everyone. :)
I am hoping to get accepted to a BSN program beginning Fall 2006, and I have two prereqs to finish -- organic chem and microbiology. I'm going to take organic in the fall quarter, and micro either in winter or spring. Ideally I would like to work full time while taking these classes.
My problem, though, is how to arrange a job. The organic chem class is only offered at 8:00 Tues/Thurs with a lab on Thursday. This pretty much rules out an 8-5 M-F job. Essentially all of my job experience is in an office/customer service setting, but it will be hard to land a job like that with needing those mornings off for a few months.
While I am not terribly picky about the job I hold for the next year, ideally I'd like to get one I enjoy or at least have some experience in. My ideal job would be a clerk in a hospital, but I have applied to every hospital in a 30-mile radius and haven't gotten any nibbles yet. Anyone have any ideas on what sort of job I can look for that would allow me to work full time (or close to it) without compromising my academic obligations?
Thanks for any advice you can provide. :)

Ive been offered a few jobs that are PRN or "as needed". Perhaps try some agencies..I was offered a job with a staffing agency PRN, while in school I could've picked the days I wanted to work. Around here it takes hospitals ages to call you back. I applied at childrens hospital here in Cincinnati and the word is it's usually a year before they call you for a job!
Hmm, a temp agency, basically?
That could be a good idea. I'll definitely look into that! Thank you for the suggestion.

Megsd I could have written that post LOL! I am also in customer service have the majority of my background is CS related. I currently work in a call center that is staffed from 7 am to 730 pm so I can work my schedule around classes once I get going on prereqs.
I'm also hoping for some kind of clerk/unit coordinator job in a hospital. I know I don't look good "on paper" because I don' have any experience in a healthcare setting but I'm hoping someone in the HR departments will look past that and hire me anyway!
