IV Tech?

I was just curious...how does one go about becoming an IV tech? I am currently in a nurse aide training course and someone in my class told me that you have to be a certified nurse aide first and then, through continuing education, you can go on to become an IV tech. Does anybody have any info?

Thanks!

I haven't heard of IV Tech. Is it like a phlebotomist? (draw blood) is it starting IV needles? What state?

Every state gets to make its own rules about such things. I would suggest you ask: 1) your school, 2) someone in your state who is already an IV tech, 3) your state licensing board.
