I am an lvn in Texas I have been iv certified for a long time through a pharmacy iv certification program. I have been checked off on IV pushes exceptions noted for some meds. My question (which I can't find on state board site ), Has something changed which prohibits me from pushing iv drugs /

IV therapy is outside the basic scope of license for LVNs. Therefore, it is up to the employing facilty to determine what LVNs can do and under what degree of supervision. It will vary from hospital to hospital.

According to the Texas BNE, the facility that employs the LVN determines what the LVN is permitted to do in regards to IV therapy. Therefore, your workplace determines what you can and cannot push.
